Humility

A basic concept that we need to grasp is that we are not gods. We really don't understand the universe we live in, and have no idea of the long term implications of actions. Since we are limited in our understanding, we should be conservative in action. So before embracing the latest thing, we should have a long period of testing. So, something should be around 25 years before we start to say "maybe". 50 years before something becomes common, and 100 years before we accept it as "likely true".

So much of what we are doing in 2026 (just think vaccines, AI, safe injection sits, etc.) is embracing new products / ideas with no clue as to what will be the result in 5, 10, 25 years.

Liberal Professional Associations seem to be addicted to chasing the "latest thing".

As a slowly reforming non traditionalist, I totally agree. And the reason is non traditionalism. I'm 60, I grew up with a fuck the family and traditions attitude. With an absence of traditional customs, all of society changes too fast and we ALL loose our sense of self.

Stable life is important. First Nation peoples culture only changed over thousands of years, with varying climates/geography, we change culture every decade. And worse, our fucking browsers want to be updated every fucking week.

I'm becoming a traditionalist!

Your post resonated with me. I'm not tech-phobic - been using it since Adam was a child, but I'm fed up with the constant changes, updates and dependence on Apps. We bought a dining set from Ashley last summer in the US. Their system was down....took multiple calls days later to put my order through. I'd been right in the store with my US credit card which they could not take. More recently, Wal Mart (US) requires an app to return online orders - it doesn't work with my Cdn phone number. I had to return to our place, print (with my own ink) the original order bar code, even though I'd printed the return bar code from Wal Mart, and then I had to drive back to Wal Mart. All the tags were in place, and the woman couldn't do a thing. Final thought - CIBC keeps updating their online banking system. Like we just went through this a few months ago. I'm done with the customer always doing the work for the corporations. End of rant :)

tracy's avatar

Oh Jesus, that's so infuriating!

A few months ago, MY bank required MY cell phone to deposit cash to MY account with MY card in person. I complained to the manager, and he said that should not have been. I'm testing this again today.

You probably have to do some very deep diving to get back there. Back to the very deep traditions of our civilization. Good luck.

tracy's avatar

My fantasy is that a giant solar flare kills all tech on the planet, then we'd reset to more realistic and somewhat traditional lifestyles. Otherwise it's hopeless.

Tracy, my slide rule is all oiled up and at the ready. Now if I could only find some graph paper. I agree, we've gone too far and either the snap-back of the rubber band leaves an "ouch" mark on the fingers or it breaks and we tumble into the abyss, never to return. Watch that first step, it's a doozy.

tracy's avatar

Sadly, there's only less than a .0001% chance of positive outcome. We're on our way to being cyborgs and I will exit life before that happens.

The first link left me bewildered - either Trump is a charlatan or he'll sleep with the enemy for .... ? Back to Hegel .... the Hegelian Dialectic. Things never change.

You be good now, Tracy cause I'm saving you a seat next to me, right down in the center of the front row. Got a big bag of popcorn, gonna go getch-a a big ol' 'ernge drink in the lobby and we'll watch Freep dive into a shot glass filled with Moderna dunk. Bring on Freep, on with the show. I paid my two bits and I demand to see Freep ... get Freep out here and let him dive into that glass ...

It really is a circus Tracy .... put on for our entertainment. It's like a mentor of mine decades ago (Bill Petrusic) explained to me - the rudiments of "sufficient and necessary". It's sufficient to know you're being snowed ... then you're aware and you can roll with it.

And humility’s opposite is pride. Canadians suffer from terrible pride. Were you, like me, taught that we were morally superior to Americans? If you look at all our problems they stem from pride. Net-zero, morally preening pride, central economics; pride, trans; proud virtue signaling. An attitude that we know best, just watch us.

But God is able to humble those who walk in pride as we are finding out. We still have quite as ways to fall sadly.

Trish Wood's avatar

I'm old enough to remember thinking we are better than Americans. In part fuelled by us mostly staying out of Vietnam but also because that was a global idea. American backpackers used to put Canadian flags on their gear because they were treated better overseas. Now, it is embarrassing.

Occam's avatar

Interesting comment. This attitude still persists here in Canada and is a hyuuuge part of the elbows up phenomenon. Many of those boomers grew up in a Canada that doesn't exist anymore except in their neighborhoods of expensive houses that are largely insulated from the realities of modern Canada.

I think the Canada that you grew up in certainly had a claim to be above a lot of the idiocy in America, but Canada of today has negligible advantage over the US, and any of those are outweighed by the much higher standard of living in the US.

The tax policy alone makes the US a better place to live. And that generally allows one to avoid the violence-prone areas that one will find in the US.

Marcie's avatar

I watched AnitaK commenting on Christian Freeland’s appearance on Bill Maher last night. She tells Americans to get it together, again morally preening pride!

Trish Wood's avatar

Oh, God. Little Miss Freeze the Citizen's Bank Accounts is in no position to lecture anyone.

D. Wayne Dunham's avatar

Trish, that was on the curriculum ... the notion that we were "better" than Americans and Lord knows how we cast shade when the topic was Southern Americans ... pathetic (Canadians). I'm heartened to see us getting our come-uppance on the world stage. We are so entertaining to the rest of the world with our elbows up and our pants down.

D. Wayne Dunham's avatar

You might find this "amusing" ... an interview with a colleague of yours (her name escapes me at the moment - independent media - recognized face and voice). This was filmed at Poilievre's pre-election launch in the Shaw Centre - downtown Ottawa. I talk about "Separation" in the '60s & '70s, growing up near the border with Maine and merging with the States were Quebec to leave Canada. Sound familiar?

D. Wayne Dunham's avatar

Marcie, you nailed it .... but it's untethered pride ... the kind that goes before a fall. I've wrestled with the subject of pride for much of my life. I grew up with parents that put a great deal of worth in pride and yet pride took much of what was good about them because untethered it is a force for destruction. The key to leveraging pride is self-respect .... that's the anchor that holds pride in abeyance and lets it out in small packets that benefit the self. Self-respect and pride .... a combination that can't be beat, but pride by itself? Ouch!

StellaMaris's avatar

Why do they believe this lie, too? Media, unions, universities, etc....all complicit....let's get some overage on this.... it's just as dangerous....

On January 22, 2026 Frances Widdowson went early, before the protest, to provide commentary on the orange shirts and Orwellian slogans adorning the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre. She then walked to the "Dialogue Centre"'s location with a number of supporters to discuss the Kamloops "215" deception. When she refused to leave, Widdowson, not members of the violent crowd, was arrested. Widdowson's supporters were then chased to the Aquatic Centre, where they were put on buses to protect them from the deranged protesters. While she was being dragged away Widdowson stated: "UBC, this is what you have become, with your orange shirts and totalitarianism".

I feel for Ms. Widdowson. I have been on many reserves over the years and made friendships with some very interesting First Nations people. The worst thing that has happened, since the mercury poisoning at Grassy Narrows -- is the false stories of deaths at the schools. There would have been many, naturally, as in any congregate setting before antibiotics. But looking for secret graves and then implying they died at the hands of the school is absurd and has over-shadowed the authentic heartbreaks of those places. Liberals tried to legislature belief....very Maoist.

StellaMaris's avatar

Thanks, Trish.... would be great if you could interview her and do a piece or two on this....this needs more coverage and she needs support... not sure how she does it...mostly alone. This is disgusting... she just finished getting arrested and now this..... she looks exhausted... let's help her. ❤️

One more comnet:

You are correct: money is the driver of this stupidity, especially when the government pays for the operations. And when money will no longer be available (either by gov program cuts or by non-insurable practices), the issue will quietly go away. Unfortunately, this might also cause a total disregard and care for those suffering from sexual disphoria; I doubt any psychologists' professional order will ever admit they were wrong - and will continue to refer to jurisdictions where this massacre continues to take place.

Btw: about MAiD, also money driven. I've heard a lot of organ harvesting from brain dead or fresh corpses!!!! How horrible our society has become..

For the tiny number of actual cases, I suspect having the surgery isn't seen as a big fix and that with the right care -- they could lead very happy lives. No one would bother them for being in drag. Why; you ask 😐, Homo sapiens can, will and do believe anything. Magical thinking is the norm for the majority of people. Ask yourself, how many things you believed and still believe that have no basis in objective reality. It's partially social conformity and partially indoctrination. As to Pritzer, between him and Rubin, and other Wall Street scum, they put Obama in power. As to euphemisms, WOW, where do I start. People don't like the hard face of reality so they make it softer with them. Never dismiss the money 🤑, it's always about the money at some level. Personally, I feel sorry for the "trans" kids. I'm on ADT, Androgen deprivation THERAPY, THERAPY? Actually chemical Castration like they do to the worst rapists. They do this to healthy young men. It destroys your quality of life. The medical industrial complexes are dangerous to your health, avoid if at all possible. The ruling classes are dangerous to life on the earth.

Happy to see the info here, as so many of us females have been talking about this since Bill C-16 followed by Bill C-6. Many of us wrote briefs, spoke and talked and talked, to deaf ears. Propaganda, the liberal funding machine, the Canadian Teacher's Federation, EGALE, WAGE and the all encompassing of the trans lobby, all to create the belief that the "most vulnerable of all women are men": kid you not - people have said so out loud!! What a bloody nighmare of ideological shit.

Hello Trish.

At 13:00 and following, yout blurb on the Conservative party not challenging the child trans legislation.

I must ask you if you will ever make reference to or speak of the People's Party of Canada?

It has been years since the PPC platform has been clearer than spring water (as all other if its policies). I strongly urge you (and others to have a look : https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/issues

You will note that most policies (a glaring exception is the child trans policy) have been taken up by the CPC and ... also taken up by Carney'S Liberals - for election purposes only of course.

I believe you have a duty, as an honest podcaster to tell viewers that there is a party in Canada, the PPC, that opposes child sex transition procedures.

Surprise! A CPC MP is opposed to taking down that legislation ??? I do believe that the CPC has been infiltrated at minimum and captured perhpas by true Liberals (of late) and that this strategy will be ongoing (even against the PPC - beieve it or not!)

Always a pleasure to listen to your show.

Canadians have been conditioned by the likes of Pierre & Justin Trudeau to FEAR being labeled as a nation of intolerance, and because Pierre especially routinely posed the question to Canadians "What is a Canadian?" Canadians were left questioning the heritage that actually was the cornerstone of our nation. Then of course there has been the continual grind by proponents of the New World Order by the Trilateral Commission, the UN, the WEF with its hundreds of well indoctrinated Globalist recruits.

With the confluence of Canada's WOKE political, & public attitude toward Flexi-Sex meeting with a powerful money grubbing Big-Pharma lobby who has been more than willing to reshape one's sex, sex conversion appeared to provide the medical industry with opportunity for many years of physical transition, and of course untold amounts of medication for physical & mental support. All in all, simply a disastrously evil proposition taking young lives down a bottomless rabbit hole.

Thus, Canadians have been hoodwinked into believing to be Canadian, we must be tolerant, have a globalist mindset, and by all means be WOKE, and fully open to Flexi-Sex.

But alas, there is a glimmer of hope for Canada to awaken to not only its sovereignty, but also, a Country where its children are not used as Guinea Pigs in the quest by diabolical Globalist elites to homogenize, if not exterminate, much of mankind.

Occam's avatar

I think you nailed it (so much so that I abandoned the comment I was going to write).

Canada, led by the Liberal party's pandering to ANY group that might give them more votes, purposefully refuses to object to anything/anybody (except those uncouth Americans). It's simple pandering. And any group that is immune to Liberal pandering is ostracized, and the govt brings the MSM and social pressures to deny a voice.

And when you won't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

"Yes, Mr. Schizophrenic, I hear the voices too, and they really are all out to get you."

That sounds like a joke, but it's exactly what medicine has been doing to these mentally ill people. Proper "gender affirming" care, emphasis on the word care, would be to pull them out of their dysphoria. Instead, they get subjected to surgeries that sound like something Mengele would have done. There should be prison sentences.

Roxanne Halverson's avatar

I will have comments on the transgender elements of this podcast later on, but I absolutely have to comment on your last segment on Bena 48. It was kind of a deja vu moment for me. Way back in the 1980s there was a time that I did some dabbling into creative writing -- sci-fi and fantasy in particular. I wrote a number of short stories, which I did send off to a number of magazines of that genre, unsuccessfully, I might add.

One story in particular involved a plot where a group of people on earth had developed and created android bodies that allowed them to download their entire live's memories and experiences into their android brains and thus achieve immortality. Of course they were an elite group and not all beings are earth were these androids that I called Anthems. The other mortals were called Menials who were essentially serfs doing menial tasks and jobs to support the elites -- more foreshadowing I guess.

The story focused on one Anthem man that was still questioning his decision to go the route he had, as he had left behind the love of his life who chose against the option, married someone else and died we all do leaving behind a legacy of menials. The only way these Anthems could recall their memories was to stimulate them by connecting to a large computer database that held all their collective knowledge. This Anthem in a moment of questioning his decision decided to make this connection and in a way relive his time with his love. But what he discovered in doing this was that what he had given up to achieve immortality. No children, no legacy and no emotions. That was because the process of downloading their memories and experiences they had somehow missed the most important elements of being human -- emotions. He could relive all the memories but he could not feel any emotions as he did so. And even though he could not have an emotional reaction to this discovery he did have an intellectual understanding of what he'd lost. Also intertwined in the plot was the story of a menial who was a descendant of his lover leading the charge to end the Anthems and restore humanity to earth. I shopped that story around to a few magazines who were not interested for various reasons. When I became a fan on the Outer Limits sci-fi series, I often thought what a great instalment my story would have made that series. I didn't realize how ahead of my time I was in writing my story and obviously the magazines I had shopped it to hadn't either.

Trish Wood's avatar

Loved Outer Limits. The Bina thing is so weird. Not even remotely human at all but there is with the rich trans community a sidebar of trans-humanism nonsense. What a great story - we imagine things and then years later they come true. How is your leg?

Roxanne Halverson's avatar

The Outer Limits in addition to having some wonderful episodes also featured some upcoming superstars, Ryan Reynolds being a case in point, a very young Ryan in an episode titled Double Helix, and Katherine O’Hara, who we just recently, sadly lost in The Revelations of Becka Paulson.

On the trans thing, I remember your episode with Beilk and I also remember seeing a piece by reporter Christopher Rufo doing about this whole trans-humanism being backed by trans millionaires and the Pritzker family and the trans-woman in their family. Funny how that is never mentioned when the media talk about JB, the governor of Illinois.

My leg, according to my latest check up is healing well, at this point with no need for surgery and or a cast. I must stay in my Zimmer splint for another month and continue to put absolutely no weight on the injured leg. That means I am confined to the master bedroom, with my husband essentially weighting on me hand and foot as we live in a split level and managing going up and down the stairs on my behind is not something I want to do on a daily basis. So that’s my lot in life for the time being, that said, things could be worse.

tracy's avatar

I feel we always need to reiterate, people have NOT been "doing this forever".

And the old school trans were NOT cool. These asshole males THEY ARE ASSHOLES started penetrating female sports in the 1970s. And sports is the most in your face aspect. These asshole males had been penetrating the more discrete female spaces since longer, forcing women to accept them.

Males crossdressing is a century or two phenom, not historical. Some women crossdressed in past centuries for SURVIVAL purposes, because a single/widowed woman had no means to earn a living like a man, so crossdressed to take male social positions.

I think a lot of people confuse the historicity of same sex sexual behaviour, because people confuse the historicity of what we call "heterosexuality". Because the species Homo sapiens did not evolve to be monogamous, the concept of "heterosexuality" is historically nonsensical. We did not evolve in couples. Humans ate/groomed/played/slept/sexed in GROUPS. Fatherhood was not known. Kids were raised in groups with MOST males being frequently away for various activities. Men left behind were either weak or injured, not "identifying as women". It's only around 5000 years ago that human fatherhood came to be understood, AFTER sedentary farming systems allowed for that knowledge from 1-1 households.

For most of human evolution and history, conception was unassociated with sexuality, so people just sexed however they cared. It's only once sexuality became compulsory marriages that varied sexualities became structured into 1-1 man-woman.

So no, "trans" is not historical. "trans" is purely a function of homophobia which developed because PSYCHIATRISTS were idiotic sexist-homophobic-trad/religious assholes trying to overcategorise people.

Today our society is entirely structured on this non-evolutionary concept of human-nuclear-family. It's the only way to raise infants. Changing this system would be overly burdensome and consequential to children, so it can not be done. We humans can NOT return to tribal living, therefore patriarchy must remain for the foreseeable future.

The concept of "trans" must be disappeared from medicine and the scam that is psychiatry.

The concept of "trans" must be disappeared from governmental/institutional documentation.
