This one truly put me in tears, tears over the loss of our once great great Country, also what this ME conflict has evolved to. But I WILL say….. much to the detriment of the true cause, the Pro Palestinian protesters here in the West have lost the plot, they are allying themselves with Hamas, this is truly not the way to spread a message. Realistically, HOW do they expect to affect change using these tactics? Also Trish, sending you nothing but healing vibes- keep your chin up, you got this. #TruthOverTribe #Honk 🚛❤️🇨🇦

Thanks for the kind words, Karen. Let me say this about the Pal protests -- some have lost the plot but some of the accusations are trucker-level smears by people wanting to discredit them and remember, many are young and full of piss and vinegar. There are some in Toronto who go too far as well. Supporting Hamas is stupid. But in the end the bombings and massacres must stop. That should be the focus. Let me say as someone who as attended a few demos over the years....including HUGE ones against the same neocons driving the Israel campaign -- there are ALWAYS annoying and counterproductive elements at protest events. Sometimes I would leave because I was so mad. But the message is what matters. I am with you supporting Hamas is dumb.....

I understand everything that you have said. Yes, bad actors infiltrate all protests. These (school) protests in NA are VERY organized. They have hierarchies of control, as well as nefarious means of funding. The protest organizers need to address the bad actors. Some of the actions and rhetoric are not acceptable. Promoting Terrorism and using Terrorist tactics is not acceptable. This is NA, we do not have protected elements of our society afraid to go outside. Mid E conflicts are something that I largely stay away from, there is SO much more that I devote my awareness energies to. I’ll never forget how you have mentioned that so many people were unhappy with you about your support for the movement of the people of Gaza. I absolutely heard what you were saying. Respected your right to have your informed views. Bibi IS a war criminal, will never be held to account. Biden is weak. You have always said dialogue is important, we must have difficult conversations. I am a paid subscriber and enormous advocate for your work. I’ll absolutely continue my paid subscription even if you choose to keep my (new) Twitter Block in place. Never stop being you, you are such a critical voice in these times. #TruthOverTribe ✌️

We shouldn’t be at all surprised that Marco (or any of those involved in protests) was convicted. When we are tried before a jury of our peers, statistically we are bound to lose. After all, only 10-15% of us questioned the narrative. I’m sure that is reflected in jury pools. I listened intently to your interview with him. He was convicted legally but not morally. I am married to someone who, agree or not, followed the Covid rules without questioning or resisting. He would have convicted Marco too, based on the fact that he blocked a border. He would not have considered the bigger moral questions surrounding the mandates—or that only people on the “wrong side” would be found guilty. I’m sure my husband is representative of 90% of that jury.

Thanks Trish for the mention! My latest piece on the Coutts Three verdict is here for your readers: https://fcpp.org/2024/04/19/coutts-three-verdict-a-warning-to-protesters-who-act-as-liaison-with-police/

The brokenness is all about us, your foot, our nation, the world. The lessons of history, the past, are lost on most of the current crop of leaders in the 'West.' And the mainstream media, passing on propaganda like porridge.

In 1990 West Coast folk singer, Ferron, wrote these lines from her song "Phantom Centre"

"Round and round the spirit tumbles,

with half a chance it still believes,

that cities fall, but minds don't follow,

and goodness hides up someone's sleeve....

And stomaches roll

while churchbells toll the crime.

The rose is crushed,

the dove flies past - It's time."

I'm glad for expressions of courage in these times, and any who would stand for freedom, peace, diplomacy (how 20th century of me, I know)

Expand full comment
author

Yes, peace. A quaint old notion totally out of style when the propaganda starts flying. The protests at Columbia remind me of Kent State and there is talk of bringing in the National Guard. I wish they would be more savvy on the messaging side but history will show they are right. And the media doesn't say this but there are many courageous Jews involved from JFP -- a long tradition I thought had died on October 7th.

Looks like you are feeling better. Amen. I was in the boot a few years ago due to a broken ankle and I asked my Mom to get me an office chair on wheels so I could glide around my apartment. I was back out on my bike in no time. Love the idea of the scooter.

Cheers to you and your recovery.

I did the office chair too and it was way better than a wheelchair which we tried but was too bulky. The scooter is pretty good on the straight away. Difficult over bumps. Hope your ankle healed well.

What a perfect title of this piece, Trish. Along with your broken ankle is our broken and sad country. To touch on the Coutts 3, it is unbelievable that they could be found guilty. They are definitely political captives, even if they are out walking about.. It is disgraceful. We keep stepping into a new low almost daily. And the whole Middle East thing is just more heart sickening stuff. God help us! Now for you, get that ankle healed so you can continue kicking ass! :)

Thanks for the update, Trish. You will heal sure as the dawn every day. Say, if you have Netflix, watch ‘RIPLEY’ the series based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel. I read her Wikipedia page… wow, what an interesting woman she was! Complicated. Anyway, this series is a masterpiece. Not kidding. Black and white, gorgeously shot and acted by all the characters. Amazing. I binged it over a couple days. Then I watched it again so as not to miss all the nuances. I hope you like it. Love, M from South Carolina.

Hang in there Trish, six weeks will fly by. I too am disappointed in our judicial system and hope the Coutts 3/4 are not punished anymore than they already have been to date.

I've been following the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other problems in the ME for 35+ years. TBH l wasn't at all surprised when October 7th happened. What still surprises me however is that so many people believe that the Israeli-Palestinian relationship had been peaceful prior to 7/10.

I watched the debate and tried to keep an open mind however l've heard Dave Smith and Cenk Uyger share their views before. I agreed with every point and every fact they shared (confirmation bias perhaps?) and l will continue to support Palestinians and pray for a permanent ceasefire in the region. Have you heard of the Samson Option? Truly frightening.

Let's hope that all these vague "hate speech" laws do not come to fruition or we're all screwed.

It's good to see you scooting around.

I'm hanging in there 2.5 weeks post-op with a ruptured Achilles in a massive cast.

We have a two-story house and the biggest challenge is stairs. I have rollling office chairs on both levels for mobility. The one upstairs I kneel on like your scooter.

I have to scoot upstairs, stair by stair, on my butt. I kind of hop down stair by stair holding the handrail on my right, and hard against the wall on the left. Somewhat cumbersome with some risk, but it works. My wife is an angel.

I also use a peg-leg device to get around. It took a couple of hours to get used to, but once you get the hang of it you feel the need for a parrot on your shoulder.

It may not be for everybody, but it does bring back some normality to life for the ankle cast-bound.

https://iwalk-free.com/product-introduction/

I get a range-of-motion walking boot next week, a boot where the foot angle can be adjusted over time to help slowly stretch the Achilles when the tendon fibers have knitted together,. Doc says one week with standing only, then I might be able to walk a little. I suspect I'll be in the boot for 6 weeks or more, then rehab for 2-3 months.

That is not me in the photo BTW. I am sorry about the cast and the pain yu must be in. Ugh. My husband is also an angel and oddly my predicament as enriched the marriage. My new vulnerability might be sort of attractive. I head about the pegleg thing and will investigate. I have a new found respect for anyone with this type of issue. I never gave it a second thought. It would not be so bad for someone who is fairly sedentary.

But I am not. This has put a real damper in activities I base my life around.

I'm not good at the homebound thing. In fact, I'm a grossly inept amateur at it.

But I AM getting better at this patience thing, a personality trait of which I'm in short supply.

One thing for sure: I will be forever grateful for simple walking again. I fantasize for the sweet opportunity to mow the lawn again. What a glorious blessing!

I got the cast off yesterday, and now have a fancy ROM boot. I can put some weight on it, but not full weight, which makes life easier.

Last night I went upstairs with just crutches, not the dreaded reverse hiney scoot. A blessing. I came downstairs this morning and didn't do the dangerous stair hop. Just crutches and patience.

I start rehab later this week, at least a month, then I see the doc again.

Baby steps...

Finally, someone I can have an in-depth conversation with—thank you Trish.

1. Alternate media, I.e., Rebel News, has been covering the Coutts three and four, and crowd funding for them via the Democracy Fund.

On a related note, as someone who could not make sense of the COVID debacle, I have found myself separated from family and friends in a way that has made open dialogue about these matters impossible. As a result, lesser matters are not discussed either. I read that people who follow MSM do not believe anything Alternate media report, and vice versa. Once I accepted that, after testing it out, I have been able to move on. With regret. I mention that as a way of asking whether that bias is fair, from your perspective.

I am a seventy-five year-old retired woman living in rural Manitoba for the past three years. I was glued to my I-pad throughout the Convoy. Had I been in better health I would have gone to Ottawa, and certainly cheered the protesters along on Highway No 1 as they passed through Winnipeg. There again, only Alternate media gave them the coverage they deserved.

2. Since October 7 I have immersed myself in the history of Palestine and Israel. I’ve read every related book I could download from the Winnipeg library, and there are many. Trying to understand has been, and continues to be, a visceral experience. I started to listen to the video, and had to stop after a bit. I am familiar with the reasoning. I came to admire and respect Dennis Prager while listening to Jordan Peterson’s study of Exodus on Daily Wire. But we haven’t read the same books it seems. Ali Abunimah at The electronic antifada reveals a very different picture of October 7 than that in our MSM. As do other Alternate sources. The situation is much more nuanced than that being portrayed.

I increasingly believe that things are either right, or they’re wrong. They can’t be a little of each, much as we would like them to be.

God bless you for learning. I recommend an interview Chris Hedges did with Ilan Pappe. Hedges gave a speech in Boston on his days covering Gaza that is heart wrenching to watch. At the end he apologizes to the children of Gaza for journalism's failure to save them. I honour that apology and feel somewhat impotent stuck here and likely too old to go there even if I could in. We must reject the talking points and read, watch and think.

Big Pharma and their associates within the WEF (New World Order) 'own' the Canadian Judiciary. Proving that the Trucker trials outcome, if there was ever a doubt, was a foregone conclusion. This confirms just how unpleasant and corrupt your 'Pussy Communist' Trudeau's and his regime really are. I've spoken to many Canadians during several visits to the US in recent years - NOT ONE Canadian has had a good word for him regarding his arrogance and dominant behavior = denying your freedoms. In spite of this 'hate' the suspect Dominion voting apparatus ensures he still gets re-elected(?)

It is now suggested that Covid vax impacts LIFE EXPECTANCY = "Four months shortened LIFE EXPECTANCY" is anticipated for all 'Covid Vax' participants. Adverse reactions (sometimes fatal) are caused by the (Unsafe ans Ineffective) EXPERIMENTAL mRNA INJECTIONS.

The 'four month reduced life expectancy' seems to be an arbitrary and, in my opinion, a conservative estimate, which will only be dramatically proven over the fullness of time - for those that accepted to participate in the (for PROFIT only) mRNA EXPERIMENT.

Someone has also previously suggested that the likelihood of damage from these dangerous injections multiplies by 3% with every extra jab or 'booster'. This number is currently unprovable, but the staggering reality will become clear in the fullness of time.

These frequent and now well established adverse reactions and post vax deaths, associated with these mRNA Gene Modifying injections 'Vax', prove that these errant concoctions. must be withdrawn immediately. The manufacturers must stand trial for PREMEDITATED MASS-MURDER.

It is amazing that these injections have not yet been banned, as was the case in the 1970's with Swine Flue vaccine which was halted after just 50+/- deaths occurred following that deadly vaccine fiasco. Since 2020, millions have died as a result of these Covid Injection but still the mass-depopulation CULL continues.

How can these dangerous products be used on humanity with NO LIABLITY for the manufacturers?

Sorry to hear your saga with the broken foot is

still unfolding. I can only imagine the level of

frustration, exasperation and debilitation you

are continuing to endure, day to day. I hope

that your recuperation will begin to go a bit

more smoothly going forward, as you are

deserving of no less , at this point.

As for the verdict in the Coutts cases, it is

most disturbing, to see how far off the rails

our once seeming democratic societies

have now gone! It is disheartening, disgraceful

and inexcusable that people can be found

guilty in such circumstances, for merely

protesting against perceived injustices! That

such guilty verdicts can be levied in such

cases, is absolutely incomprehensible and

quite despicable! I wonder if in either case,

the defendants can expect to appeal these

verdicts with any possibility of having them

overturned? If not, then it would appear that

democracy itself has withered on the vine.

What a terrible price to pay , for the

majority of the population, and then exactly

where does that leave us? This does not at

all bode well for the future, actually it’s a

most unsettling prospect, no matter how you

look at it.

With regard to the genocidal nightmare

continuing to okay out in Gaza and the West

Bank, it is absolutely horrifying that the

Western backers of Israel continue to fund,

arm and give political cover to Israel, to

perpetuate this humanitarian tragedy! The

U.S., Canada, and Europe are all equally

responsible in facilitating everything that

has gone on in the last 6+ months. Without

this unconditional support, Israel would have

had no ability to carry out this maniacal

campaign of wholesale extermination , of the

Palestinian people. It’s as if the collective

West has lost any connection with its

humanity, that it condones and allows such

atrocities to continue, on such a massive

scale, against largely defenseless civilians,

the majority of whom are women and

children! I am ashamed at the conduct of

the U.S. government in this genocidal

endeavor, and that if every other Western

government that aided and abetted Israel

in this monstrous tragedy. One cannot

easily comprehend the level of suffering,

hardships and cruelty thst have been

inflicted upon the civilian population of

Palestine, by Israel and its military forces.

It is evil on an unimaginable scale, that is

being unleashed here. I don’t know if the

West, can ever make amends for the

horrors it has helped to unleash in this

challenging time. I think we all have the

blood of countless souls martyred in this

dreadful conflict, for having done nothing

to intercede and put an end to this , once

and for all.

I wish you a smoother recovery from your

recent fall, than you have experienced thus

far. Looking forward to your next podcast,

even if of shorter duration. Now more than

ever, voices seeking the truth, like yours,

need to be heard loud and clear. Our very

future depends on it. Thank you Trish, for

all you do on our behalf. Your tireless

efforts to uncover the truth, are appreciated

more than you know!
