Me on The Fifth Estate with bad hair and a crabby countenance. Good story, though. We nailed it!
I’m late with this. Many apologies. It’s been a busy week. Watching CBC implode has been difficult but not unexpected given its failures of the past decade. The country is really starting to talk about it.
CBC has pulled itself off of Twitter because when challenged about the level of government funding Elon playfully switched it from 70 to 69%. The lefty ideologues trying to take over our lives have ZERO sense of humour. A very bad look if they want to be taken seriously. Then the story broke that my replacement on The Fifth Estate, Gillian Findlay, retired because she could not work remotely from …….Nova Scotia! Read the room kids. People are hungry in this country and commuting hundreds of miles, likely at CBC expense is a tone deaf idea. Apparently Bob McKeon does it from Quebec and I hope that deal lapses soon. Seriously. What pampered poodles these folks are becoming. She is correct though, despite its woke persona, the CBC still favours men on the big shows.
You’ve heard me railing against my former employer on the podcast for three years mostly in the context of C-19 and CBC’s total failure to ask hard questions, leaving the citizenry with no bulwark against the tyranny of public health. The science bureaucracy was given near total power and was running amok with our rights, our mental health and our children’s futures. I did a premium hit with more background here. And did a spot with my old friend, Rupa Subramanya.
My guest last week was Rodney Palmer, a brave former journo who made a damning presentation to the National Citizen’s Inquiry. We had a long and very deep conversation about the Mothercorp’s recent failures and the good old days of CBC radio where we both worked. The two of us learned so much from the late Michael Findlay — the brains of CBC radio documentary making and a tough task master with a hidden, Lou Grant heart of gold. We liked him enormously. You’ll recall he died recently after a random attack on the Danforth, one of many in dystopian Toronto, a city where C-19-policy-caused-mental-illness prevails.
No one admits what’s happening here. The City of Toronto is too busy getting rid of all of our parking lots and handing our lovely old Victorian buildings over for demolition so they can meet the hidden green density targets that no one living here actually wants. I will be reporting a lot on the takeover of our neighborhoods by planning zealots who believe not in our right to control our own neighborhoods but that we should sacrifice all that is good for the sake of the ugly, inhumane green collective. Think of Pripyat before Chernobyl. This is our future if we don’t get the lefty counsellors out of office next election and it doesn’t look good.
BIll C-11 looks to be a transfer of money from indy journos like myself back to legacy media who can’t make it without the government stepping in. Lying to the people is a really bad business model for journalists but instead of fixing the problem and actual representing diverse views — Catherine Tait is doubling down by criticizing her indy competition with the usual epithets that begin with “dis” and “mis.” Labelling conservative protesters as racists and white supremacist is just dumb. So is doing the government’s comms by amplifying lies and smears from the prime minister.
And for your viewing pleasure that great take down of a BBC journo by Elon last week. Not to be missed. This video would not embed. So here is a screenshot and a link.
Our guest for tomorrow cancelled because of a family emergency so we are scrambling. But worry not, we will be dropping this week’s episode come hell or high water and I have a special guest in mind.
Speaking of special — Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford who was accused by Fauci of being a fringe scientist sent me this lovely photo of himself in the popular Trish Wood is Critical — We the Fringe cap meant to memorialize all of us who stuck to our beliefs and survived the nonsense. Esteemed doctors along with bold truckers also wear our prime minister’s childish and inaccurate fringe epithet proudly and with a heaping tablespoon of irony. I named my TNT radio show On The Fringe to celebrate our heroes.
I was thrilled to see Bobby Kennedy has stepped up. I like him enormously but he’s going to have to clean up the mess from his personal life — fully and once and for all in a public statement. Media will hate him and they are already digging around. They can be vicious. Lots of old dirt even though he has been on the straight and narrow for years and deserves redemption. He is sober and in what appear to be a good marriage.
Still, skeletons in the cupboard as Hugh Grant said in Four Weddings. I’ve had dinner and conversation with a very close member of his family who says what a good and loyal friend Bobby is and there is a ton of evidence to suggest that is true. And for my female supporters, I did interview him once, on a beach in Clayoquot sound for The Fifth. He was breathtakingly handsome and faultlessly polite. He carried the weight of all that family tragedy with grace. I had a bit of trouble keeping my cool. Bobby and Morgan Freeman….the only two interviews I was ever nervous to do. Chasing organized crime, wandering through war-torn Rwanda — no problem. But put a legendary crush of mine in front of me and I fall apart. Except I didn’t. I got the job done. No one knows. Except you guys…….
Stay Critical…
Huge thanks to our Premium subscribers, who help us bring you the podcast - independent journalism depends on your support and we are grateful!
Much appreciated and see you tomorrow on the pod.
CBC suffers from the same hypocrisy and narcissism as their beloved leader #TrudeauTheTyrant, a much more destructive parasite than any virus. Loved your chat with Rodney, although I think the heads at CBC know full well that they are propagandizing all things Covid, and anything else the so-called Trusted News Initiative directs.
We now have one more clue to identify the ideological captured: support for CBC alongside support for Ukraine 🇺🇦, masks😷 and never ending jabs💉💉
CBC could attempt to rebuild trust by promoting the National Citizen's Inquiry that is happening now. People need to see this and no msm is covering it. They claim to represent Canadian citizens, yet when there is a citizen led inquiry...crickets, or worse smearing it with mis and dis labels.
https://nationalcitizensinquiry.ca/ happening live in Saskatoon today, wonder if it will even make the local news?
