It has been a manic ride of ups and downs since the rumour of a convoy (I think of it as the convoy of hope) materialized into reality in early 2022. It has exposed some real heroes from all parts of the country, mostly working class people, but also some professionals, clergy members and even government workers.

Sadly, the convoy also revealed some real villains, too many of which seem to reside in government and the institutions that are under its control.

The "million person march" mirrors this exactly. The unions, which sat on their hands throughout the battle over jab mandates, appear to be eager to stick their noses into a realm where they don't belong in the context of this Wednesday's march. The health and safety of our kids is primarily the responsibility of parents. CUPE and its affiliates should stay in their lane.
