Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were charged with nischief. Thats interesting because CRA fed workers lied that the protestors ransacked their offices. Thats mischief to try and paint the truckers as violent. Tamara spent over 50 days in jail for mischief. Do these CRA workers get punished or what? Someone ransacked the offices so who really did the ransacking?
Do you remember when around 3 or 4 protesters kneeled down in Ottawa and said we are peaceful. Does that remind you of an occupation by gun ladden pirates over taking a ship.
The unions are paid to disrupt The parents should ignore the temper tantrums of toddlers known as union. Unions protect lazy workers and attack the good workers. They are attacking the Charter section 7 where parents have rhe right to decide for their children whats best. Where to live, medical treatments etc.

Indeed. The truckers saved my sanity at a time when I had nearly given up all hope. My new neighbors moved here this summer from South Africa and cannot understand how this trial can be happening in this country. We are far along the road to totalitarianism.
The freedom convoy was crushed. It's leaders arrested and the funding confiscated. But now, even with Covid mostly over I cannot shake the feeling that the protest was and is unfinished. The insidious overreach of this government continues in a myriad of other means and our trust is irretrievably shattered. It needs to end. I sincerely hope that the impending One Million March picks up the sword so bravely carried by Chris and Tamara.

I don't think that identifying with the protestors disqualifies you. I think it might actually give you less of a prejudice in your reporting on this because the reporting we are seeing can sometimes be so dismissive of the very real concerns that these people had. did I agree with honking horns night and day etc? no. Did I agree with the bloody emergencies act being brought into play? Absolutely not. The govt has yet to prove with this kafkaesque show trial that this was a good use of police and prosecutorial power.

It was this past dec Jan and Feb and the lesson learned..,ignore them refuse the vaccines live normally and the mammoth variant disappears. The common cold symptoms continue as normal. We're living in our post-factual world. Unsafe vaccines, according to Pfizer's own Worldwide Safety Branch Report of April 30/21 showing 1,223 had died of their jab by Feb 28/21, are declared to this day to be "safe" by Public Health Canada. So, I suppose the Crown - showing footage of the standoff between peaceful protesters and police becoming violent - after Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were already arrested, could try to blur all distinctions regarding chronology. In our pre-"pandemic" world, it would make sense to argue that since these two were already in custody, that the events in Ottawa on subsequent days - regardless how you view the police crackdown (showing my bias, I know) - did not involve those behind bars. But, in our C-19 world connections are made that are as bewildering as the Crown over and over again showing footage that should be seen as helping the defense. I'm hoping Canada is not morphing into a Kangaroo Court society. The verdict by the judge at this trial will give us cause for hope, or a sobering reminder of a democracy in free-fall.
Question, is it possible that the Crown in trying to loose? This is obviously a political trial, and if I were a crown prosecutor tasked with doing something I did not believe.....
I had the same thought. Also I wonder if they know they will lose so by letting the crown fumble horribly they can blame the loss on incompetence of lawyers during the trial rather than the truth.
When you think about it, that is a clever means to extricate themselves from this. They show no weakness by dropping the charges and avoid the continuation of this saga, that a conviction (appeals) would bring.
Regardless of the outcome, the entire process has been despicable.

I was down there at the trucker protest maybe two days before the take down. I saw police looking like they wanted to break down as they stood face to face with quiet, defiant, always peaceful protestors.
Trish, did you watch the leaked video of education unions organizing counter protests? There is frankly a dangerous tone here that I almost never saw in weeks of being with the truckers and listening on zello. At the convoy, there were frequent and vehement corrections made to people who appeared to be losing patience or who were moving towards pushing back in an angry, if well deserving way. And yet these SJWs are openly spouting vile and violent incitements to disrupt, destroy, intimidate, scare etc the mostly parents who plan to be at the marches tomorrow.
