Excellent and so sobering living in these times. Reading Rouleau Report and it's jawdropping in his "one the one hand, on the other" slip-sliding away - and insisting the protests were "violent" and cites the Ottawa residents who testified at the POEC as "evidence" that he prefers to trust to the Intelligence reports of OPP Supt. Patrick Morris. When will my head stop shaking?
I love some of the paragraphs that apply to Rouleau and our beleaguered government, a few sentences brilliantly phrased. Well done, but the rest is all over the place and has lost me nearly entirely.
Yes! I would love to share some of the interviews or segments of interviews that are shorter and easier to access. for those not awake, it’s easier to say “here’s an interview with a cbc reporter, how interesting eh?” Or if there’s multiple interviews in one segment, nice to break them down for sharing. LOVE the show. Highlight of my week is Friday when it drops. It continues to be surreal living in this society esp as a previous lefty.
Thanks for the kind words. Surreal is the correct -- every day a new horror. But to quote Joan Didion -- the center cannot hold. On the plus side - Andrew Coyne tore a strip off the Prime Minister yesterday....so there is that......
This is a well-conveyed article Trish. Canada is broken in spite of what Trudeau says. We no longer live in a democratic country. My father and many others who went to war thinking it was for freedom, would be churning in their graves. It was a dog and pony show only and I knew Justice Rouleau would not come down on Trudeau. It was all for show and at the taxpayer's expense. Disgusting.
When the other sides uses the #freedumb hashtag my heart breaks. My father was a signalman during the war who didn't give his life but did lose his sanity which of course travels down the generations. Sad the young people don't get it.
I agree Trish. That hashtag is just another accusatory word they use to get under our skin.
My dad volunteered at the age of 29 (actually was considered old). He was gone for 5 years. They had 2 children at the time and mom was pregnant when he left. When he returned that son was born and another son had died while he was gone. I came in the 50's :). I can't imagine the stress that he went through and my mom too. Lots of people nowadays do not have any comprehension of what freedom means or how many died and were injured claiming it. According to my mom, dad was a changed man when he returned. Of course he was - how could he not be? Thank you to your dad and mine and so many others for what they sacrificed.
It is beyond imagination - 17 years old. The kids and even 40+ year olds today have no clue of the sacrifices that have been made for them. Our dads and so many others stood on honour back in those days. War is so ulgy and sad and disgraceful. It saddens me to the core. I am very patriotic and much of that is because of my dad. We bow our head to all who gave so much.
the truckers protest was the only good thing to happen in the past three years. what trudeau did to them was disgusting, then again HE is pretty disgusting.
i had sent $100 through givesendgo which was stopped and eventually returned to me. i called doug ford's office and left a message calling him a petty thief for stealing my money.
he couldn't get his grubby hands on my bank account because i am a US citizen but what happened was so frightening to me because it could easily happen here.
my BF and i moved our retirement money into a self directed IRA and bought some farmland.
the decision was hideous. there was clearly no justification for the war act. but, sad as it is, the truckers ignited hope in the world, they set wheels in motion and things are happening. it ain't over yet.
9/11 was the biggest lie foisted or is that feasted, at least vetted[?] upon the quisling Yankee public.
Then came WMD to get at that American pet-troll-ie-um under Arab sand.
Now we are in the ashes of Billy-boy-Epstein-Gates and his clot-shot windfall. Too many have died needlessly. If you think more than one mass shooting per day below the 49th is too many, as of today, wait 'til NEWS gets out as to the $$ to be made from shooting every one up in their deltoid.
Imagine you are big pharma that 'earns' 25-35B$ in revenue in a regular year. Then you "make" 93-113B$. Now think of how many docs, health authorities, senators, congressmen, regualtory agencies and others in positions of control you can pay off with that largesse? Huh? Mull that for one second!
Oh yeah, back to the future with 9/11...ever find the tail fin and engines of the 767 that crashed into the bottom floor of the Pent-ah-gram without leavin' any trace of scratch marks on the ground when the engines are 14' lower than the wings? An' where was the wing damage on that said first floor of the ajacent rooms? Huh, eh?!
Then there's the Smart car sized hole in the ground in the PA farmer's field, with again, no tail fin or for that matter, any other aerodrome part. Hey folks, if you own the NEWS media you can print whatever you want day after day and beat your readers into submission. It's a battle for eyeballs.
Lest we breach the veracity of the official reports that said nothing...intelligible 'bout why the 47 story third building collapsed, yeah, the one with all the supposed gold under ground.
Covid? Vitamin D, eh. Follow Dr. John Campbell on his YT channel. Where are the repurposed drugs to combat yet another Corona bug, that unlike the first one in 2004, disappeared on its own and without any clot-shots. Bring on the variants and keep 'er goin'.
Most of the truckers were vaccinated. Couldn't cross the border without 'em. They didn't want to have to self-isolate 14 dayze and lose travel income.
Where was the PM to talk to them? Like the stateside pres, he went AWOL. The pres went to glad-hand the Ukrainian comedian rather than visit East Palestine, OH.
One year later and no Yankee negotiation. It's all lies. Always has been, like over 50 years and none of the important secret docs from JFK's received bullets have surfaced. Those bullets were not keystrokes either.
Why no wage and price controls as was the times 40 years ago, over today's gas price hikes, the manufactured food shortages and the bank interest rate heist along with big grocery, bank, oil etc. windfalls. Will good people everywhere ever awaken and realize our national Empty-roars are wearing no clothing?
We'll not vote our weigh outta this fan-dangle, what with Labour in the UK and Downunder mimickin' the Con-Jobs. Here? Why we have T.C. Douglas rollin' in his grave with Singh's support of cross-the-floor antics.
'Member Plato, that Greek dude who had a way with words: “Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.”
There is an element of propaganda and mass hysteria at work. Some people are more vulnerable to it than others -- I just hope they wake up soon. I fear they won't.
I fear they won't too because unless it affects them directly (almost like hitting them in the face with a brick) - they just will keep sipping their starbucks latte and following their crowd on instagram. :(

Sometimes I wonder what else to do except cry. I cry for the Freedom Convoy once again denied justice and vindication. And the slimy legacy media can all nod their heads in unison and give themselves a high five for seeing these dirty trucker lowlifes got what they deserved. A column in the National Post said a survery said two third of Canadians thought the invocation of the Act was the justified. Well, what do you expect when they got their 'news' on the Convoy from CBC, CTV, Globlal and the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star, not to mention who was survey. The laptop crowd in big cities? What a joke. What ever happened to the media that gave the underdog a fair shake and in some cases the benefit of the doubt. At least the media is the US have so embarrassed themselves over East Palestine they finally have to take notice. It is a sad world we live in, but I stand with the the truckers and say, "Keep on trucking" PS Paul Rouleau is a coward, he could have distinguished himself by taking an honest stand on how the government behaved, but instead he took the safe route to an ambassadorship or senate seat for his loyalty, where did principle go to die.
Without a working media we will continue to struggle. Legacy M must fail quickly so we can get one with curating our own sources of info. Not ideal but certainly better than what we have now.
How does one facilitate that fall when they are so heavily financed, right now by the government. One can only hope that if Poillivre does become PM he will stay true to his promise to defund or at the very least reign in CBC funding and programming, ie, get rid of its 24 hr news channel and cut off the $650 million going to newspapers. My view is that if independent organizations like True North Media, Rebel News, and the Western Standard and yourself can make it, and do quitee well, from what I have seen, via subscriptions, donations and some sponsorship, so too should established media like the Globe, the Star and the National Post.
Thank you for writing what millions of us feel Trish. I knew it would end this way but I can only keep hoping that someone will keep pushing and make him accountable one day.
Well, even in this sad state, we at least got you, Trish out of this chaos....thankful for that..... I learned a new word yesterday in regard to Pink Shirt Day.....it's the word UPSTANDER....thanks for being an upstander....
The old cliche 'shocked but not surprised' came to mind when I read the executive summary of Rouleau's report. I knew all along that it would be a whitewash but it was still a disappointment to actually see it.
Thank you for using the word 'evil' to describe Freeland. Justin's an airhead and can only DO evil, but Freeland really IS evil.
I look forward to hearing you and Tamara set the world to rights tomorrow.
A breaking point will eventually come. I hope for peace and humanity when the reckoning follows.
Just listening to your podcast interview w Tamara Lich.
I am learning for the first time that Trudeau went skiing throughout the protests!?!...he was skiing???...I really want to swear right now!!
What the actual flying F??..
What a piece of work...just the lowest of lowlife slimy scum buckets...not that I didn't know this about him before mind you.
Waiting like a Budhist...it is indeed a hard thing to do, you said it Trish.

The sober me didn’t expected any other result from the enquiry but secretly I was still hopeful.

My Dad lied and shipped out when he was 17.
Can you even imagine?
I learned that when the naval ships sank, the crew was left to drown or boil on the surface in flaming diesel.

Ah jayöh, thy doth protest excessively.
Were we good once, at least most of us? At least tried to be? I hate us, I really do.

No one will be held accountable overtly -- but the winds of change are blowing.
perhaps you'd like to read my review of Andrew Lawton's The Freedom Convoy, the book and more... see my blog:https://judyhaiven.ca/2023/02/20/what-to-read-what-to-watch-and-what-to-listen-to-in-february-2023/
Your blog is garbage.
A well-written review but one I disagree with. I guess in these times fascism is also in the eye of the beholder.
Well, even in this sad state, we at least got you, Trish out of this chaos....thankful for that..... I learned a new word yesterday in regard to Pink Shirt Day.....it's the word UPSTANDER....thanks for being an upstander....

Sounds like Hal Bray raised a very intelligent son. I bet he’s proudly looking down upon Chris from the mysterious beyond. RIP
