Although I am not a practicing Catholic I have and defend certain Christian values. I believe they are a part of Western culture but that in the West, nations have rejected theocracy in favour of democracy. In France and Quebec religion has been banned from public institutions and in a plural society, I firmly believe it must be.
I share your feelings and reactions to the conflict in the Middle East. What adds to my ambivalence and fear is the growing influence of Islam in the West and how Islamists brandish the genocidal war on Palestine to silence opposition, while in many Middle Eastern countries the Muslim Brotherhood is banned and Palestinian refugees are turned away.
While Christian churches are being burned down, Saudi Arabia continues to finance the building of thousands of mosques throughout Europe and North America. Muslim immigrants are coming to the West in record numbers and gather to pray in very public places. While Western youth have replaced families with pets, Muslim women are staying at home and raising large families. Am I the only one wondering if this might be a new form of colonialism?
There is an Orthodox monastic saying: "The holy place does not stay empty long." It has a complementary response: "The empty place does not stay holy long."
The Talmudo-Satanised West is, at best, a vacuum. It is far more likely entirely possessed.
I can't tell the difference between Democracy and Demoncracy. Can you enlighten me?
I would also like to know if you believe, as I do, that the word 'Protestantism' itself, harking back as it does to a horny English king who wanted a divorce and Martin Luther who was eager enough for reform to break all, or most of the rules of his alleged faith, may have fatally influenced the further development of Christianity in the West. Leading to such obscenities finally, as perpetual protest and Christian Zionism - an absurdity and an oxymoron.
What we are witnessing is a concerted plan in action financed by Iran and Qatar and by the Muslim Brotherhood to herald, forge, and protect a new surge of Islamic migration into Western countries, for the purpose of destabilization and conquer.
Listen carefully to their Mullahs and Clerics and this is plainly and openly their plan and their call to action. There is no greater colonizing force on the planet than Islam.
How about no. Let’s not hate anyone. I realize you are speaking of groups of people but groups are composed of people! If a person is not dead they can still repent but hating anyone and telling others they also should hate is not cool.
Thank you I will watch that. Population replacement is a nasty thing, almost as bad as genocide. But who invited Islam in?
There is a wonderful scene in Andrei Rjublov when the Mongols "invade" Russia. They are actually welcomed at a river by a Princeling who wants to pay his brother back for real or imagined wrongs.
Under the ramped up mass migration of the past few decades beginning in the 1960s, the powers that be changed laws that resulted in ever less ‘high trust’ homogeneous western societies.
It’s a worthy discussion given the state of modern western societies throughout Western Europe and the Anglo sphere.
It’s worth it to at least be familiar with Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi. Is there any truth to the theory that on some meta level, we are living in the consequences of this vision.
A much needed conversation. I have struggled so much watching Christians either turn a blind eye to the atrocities happening in Gaza or worse, cheer it on. This creepy ideology is so entrenched that I’m not sure anything can snap these people out of it. Lord have mercy indeed.
You are the first orthodox person I have been dismayed by. All people can change their minds, grow and repent if they are wrong. In this age of lies and propaganda how can you judge those who you don’t actually know?
A very bizarre argument. Would you say that each IDF soldier should now be assumed to be a terrorist and a genocidalist murderer/executioner or should each on individually still be afforded some kind of benefit of doubt. There is not enough time on Earth to sometimes not generalize.
I find you dismaying and a nuisance for your runaway belligerence and overweening sense of entitlement.
Congratulations on your beautiful podcast with Fr. Emmanuel! It is one of THE most beautiful expositions of life’s purpose and meaning that I have ever encountered. Thank you once again for standing up bravely and courageously for the suffering children and people of Gaza - whilst also condemning the atrocities of Hamas. The Overton window is now speeding away from the Zionist narrative - and it is thanks by God’s Grace, to people like you - and to you, humanity owes an incalculable debt. Thank you so much for the very kind things you say about me - which I certainly don’t deserve. All God’s Grace and Mercy. Fr. Emmanuel’s “epilogue” when you let him speak about the collective stain on America’s and humanity’s conscience that is Gaza - was a clarion call, an appeal to the very soul of man, to the very essence of our common humanity. I have no doubt that this podcast will rank as a gigantic thunderbolt in the mission to awaken the conscience of the world about Gaza. I was moved to tears by the discourse you and Fr. Emmanuel have about suffering. As E. Stanley Jones says: “The Christian does not merely bear suffering - he/she is able, by the Grace of God, to use suffering for the purposes of the Kingdom of God” Bravo! Many congratulations again! God bless you!!
As one who supports Israel and as a Bible believing Christian, I cannot fathom why you seem to not understand what is really going on in Gaza. And as a Catholic, you seem to have bought “replacement theology” hook, line and sinker.
And to make statements along the lines people like me enjoy Gazans suffering is slander.
If you "support Israel", you clearly enjoy watching Gazans suffer, because genocidal slaughter defines Israel. Perhaps you should join one of the Zionists' sightseeing tours to watch the slaughter first hand. Or join one of their tailgate parties. You'll feel truly "righteous".
That is really rude. You can not know what this man thinks. He says he doesn’t like suffering. You are not God, you can’t know what’s in his mind. This conflict is very very confusing and people genuinely don’t know what’s is true or what to think so please have grace.
Hi Dorian....I'm not anti-Jewish and in fact many Jewish people see the slaughter in Gaza as a tragedy. Are they anti-Jewish? Netanyahu has told so very many lies including about the shootings at aid stations -- but the truth comes out. It should bother you, regardless of your political or geopolitical positions. And of course you resort to an ad hominem.
The complete lack of feelings/empathy or critical thinking of those North Americans defending the wholesale slaughter of other people is disheartening.
Thanks Trish for continuing to ring the bell of humanity.
Thank you Trish and Father .Great conversation. The history of Xristian Zionism is approximately 200 years old. It is unrecognizable to and unaligned with Christianity prior to that, which is a pretty significant tell as to where it’s coming from and what it is aligned with.
John Nelson Darby and Scofield’s 1909 “Study Bible” make interesting deep dives for historical perspective on the movement.
Also, here is the podcast on Christian Zionism she referenced early in the show: https://youtu.be/WxbnfiAa-uk (we discuss Scofield extensivly in the show)
I must profoundly disagree with this article, Trish. I would agree that Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is a loathsome figure and his blind support for Israel because of his religious beliefs is ridiculous. But you generalize Christian Zionists in this piece and make us out to be a monolith. I am a Christian Zionist and I am a proud supporter of the state of Israel. I don’t hate Palestinians, in fact I support the creation of a Palestinian state 100%. Nor do I support Israel because of the whole “end of times” nonsense or because I want the Jews to mass convert to Christianity. There is no genocide in Gaza. Nothing like that is taking place. The IDF’s combatant to civilian killed ratio is the lowest in the history of warfare. Israel has also established humanitarian zones for the Gazan people to go to so they’d be safe from harm.
I have yet to find any reliable sources that carry the story you reference in this article. All the soldiers you mentioned are anonymous, I would question whether these “IDF soldiers” even actually exist. Haaretz is far from a reputable source of news about Israel as well. The funding for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation comes primarily from the United States government. Also, it makes absolutely no sense to accuse the IDF of ordering its troops to fire on innocent Gazans looking to get aid. What logical reason would they even do that for? This was clearly an accident. These folks accidentally strayed from the approved route to get aid, the soldiers in question fired upon them by mistake thinking they were Hamas and the press blew out of proportion.
Also, the numbers Hamas has provided for how many people were killed in these incidents can’t be trusted or verified and is likely massively inflated. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation does amazing work, it has fed millions of people in Gaza without Hamas as a middle man stealing most of it from the people. When the UN was in charge of distributing aid, Hamas, organized crime families and bands of thieves looted it. Now Israel is being attacked…for feeding the people of Gaza? That is absolute nonsense.
Israel can’t seem to win with it critics no matter what. Also, if the IDF was really trying to cover up responsibility for the accidental shooting of those folks in Gaza, they’d try to whitewash the whole thing. They wouldn’t bother to do an investigation. I see no problem with GHF being set up by Evangelical Christians and private security contractors. They are genuinely trying to reach out to the people of Gaza. As to Mike Huckabee, I have my disagreements with him to be sure. Especially when it comes to LGBT rights. He has many flaws to be sure. But he is despite his flaws, a good and decent man who was the perfect choice to be our ambassador. He can be counted on to always help and stand by Israel and the Jewish people.
There are several problems with the email you showed from that listener who calls himself a Catholic was for the most part, pretty sad. Saying “when the Iranian missiles struck Israeli cities, felt like justice.” and that “I was disappointed that Israel got off lightly” and “I wanted for them to feel every bit of pain they inflicted on the Gazans.” I’m glad that at the end he saw that feeling this was wrong and that he took to heart of Father Lemuelson’s message of love for all people everywhere and that him wanting revenge was unhelpful and wrong.
But as a Christian, I can’t bring myself to forgive him for those statements. I too care deeply about and am hurt by the plight of the people of Gaza. But it never caused me to cheer on Iranian missiles on Israel and wish death to innocent men, women, children, babies, and old people. Nor was I “disappointed by the ceasefire.” Two wrongs don’t make a right period. If you take joy in such things, you’re a monster period. I would never wish death on any group of people including Palestinians and Iranians. It’s NOT okay to do it to Israelis either! But I am glad you said amen to Father Lemuelson’s most inspiring, important and timely message.
You would never, ever wish harm or death on innocent Israeli civilians and I have never seen you do so in any article or podcast and you never would. Father Lemuelson is the type of faith leader we need during these tumultuous times in the world. I’m praying that the War in Gaza will come an end soon and that horrible war that has killed hundreds of thousands and displace millions and nearly wiped out all of Gaza will soon be over.
There are multiple credible sources on the aid station shootings. I only showed the Haaretz piece because it is Israeli and they use IDF sources. That comment I posted was to show how when we return to our beliefs, we DON'T cheer for anyone in the region to be harmed. That is the point he was making.
Right, I don’t deny that the aid station shooting happened. I just don’t believe that it was done on purpose. I agree, when you and those who agree with you return to our beliefs you don’t wish death on anyone. I did understand that, respectfully you have misunderstood my comment.
So mis-formed. Such a hate-filled bigot. Sad. Clearly, you are a true Christian Zionist as you claim, one wilfully ignorant of the truth and blinded by your twisted version of what it means to be a Christian. The genocide in Gaza has been streaming 24/7 for the past 631 days. Anyone willing to open their eyes can confirm for themselves the inhumane cruelty which you excuse or deny, the worse barbarianism we have ever witnessed by any nation, civilized or otherwise. Or you can check in with the International Court of Justice, or the International Criminal Court, or listen to UN Human Rights Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, or surviving healthcare workers and foreign volunteer doctors. There is no excuse for "not knowing" what has been happening. There is no excusing those who claim "not to know", like you.
Embrace murder and slaughter of children and babies if you wish, in the name of your "religion" or whatever; but please don't be a lying hypocrite about it, thinking that makes it, or you, okay. Your Judgement Day will not be kind to you.

You can’t be a ‘Bible believing Christian’ and support the modern state of Israel.
That’s a tricky maxim. I support the nation of Israel as Gods chosen people who He will ultimately bless. Not so much the modern secular state.
The Church is Israel.
I do not buy replacement theology. Even if you do not believe Jesus will rule from Zion when He returns as I do, Israel has a right to defend itself.
Slaughtering civilians indiscriminately isn’t self defense.
They don’t slaughter indiscriminately. They give notice and go after Hamas.
A Babble-believing Christian you mean, which is no kind of Christian at all.
Do you mean Bable, as in the tower?
Take your pick. The two words are related.
Hi Dorian....I'm not anti-Jewish and in fact many Jewish people see the slaughter in Gaza as a tragedy. Are they anti-Jewish? Carney is a fraud and poison to Canada
Hi Trish, I just watched the Mathew Ehret presentation to alberta UPC riding. He notes a few key Carney/globalist goals for Canada. Very concerning, and enlightening. https://rumble.com/v6vfbj7-matthew-ehret-carney-global-finance-and-alberta-at-thecouragetolisten-townh.html?e9s=src_v1_s%2Csrc_v1_s_m
He's smart.
Matthew Ehret is a force. I was marginally involved with the Lyndon Larouche crowd many years ago. Much of what Lyndon had to say was true and he as Larouched for it. The deep state got him. The term I use today for that is Assanged.
I used to hear this sort of attitude (the end times is coming soon so let's encourage it and help bring forth the second coming of Christ thing) all the time when I was in those circles back then. But I think it's probably not accurate to paint it so broadly, especially here in Canada. I'd look to the most extreme evangelical circles for evidence of that still going on in the leadership and in hush hush tones amongst the parishioners.
Only talking about the Christian Zionists.....
"Baring Witness"
There is no argument I can present, no facts I can recite, no words I can say that can more these people One Inch. They will continue to believe what they believe, and support what they support.
All I can do is bare witness
Totally agree with your censorship of the possessed. Absolutely nothing of use can be gained from them.
i love the fact you allow many points of view on your show and I respect that very much. I don't agree with your guest's narrow definitions and vision of what it means to practice the way iof LOVE, which really is the practice. He's way too narrow in his view of what it means to be a compassionate human in communion with God or their higher power. And THAT is something I would turn away from personally. There are many paths to one truth of the heart and experience of the divine source. He's pretty old school. As MLK says "Judge a man not by the color of their skin (or the name of their church) but by the content of their character."
I love people who can disagree nicely. Well done Laura.
I'm an atheist, but I found the first half rather interesting, the second half he was just spouting off no differently than the evangelists do. It seemed rather hypocritical/judgemental on his part, which created dissonance IMO.
Ideally speaking, if one is to have a Bible debate, one should be using a digital Bible to be able to actually point to the passages.
Bible debate is a very Protestant concept. There is, fortunately, no debating the Bible in Orthodoxy.
Re Dr Meat "Carne": I think it is as simple as it is sinister. Dr Meat is a Malthusian courtier from the Zio-Anglosphere with its Capital in the 'Golden Square Mile' called The City of London. Carney is here to oversee the regime change in the USA.
