Journalist Jacqueline Bynon is back with us today to unpack the latest photo/video controversy and how the ongoing drama around the Wales’ is impacting public trust. Plus we tear a strip off of the King for not sorting out this catastrophe — which is huge in the annals of messaging failures.
The dishonesty, stubbornness and fakery is an insult to the loyal public who love and admire the Royals and have stood by them through many storms, including tornado Meghan. The journalists who are playing along with this sham are destroying their own reputations and might never get them back. What the hell is going on in the Kingdom?
Note: no tech support today so do please forgive any glitches. I wanted to get this out ASAP.

And stay critical.
Update: We were right. The Daily Mail and its royal reporters who rely on access to the monarchy for their bread and butter are in full-on defense mode. In the last two hours, three new stories have appeared aimed at protecting Prince William and dampening the public’s curiosity. Doesn’t anyone care about Kensington Palace producing doctored photos? Or the media proffering fake video? Shockingly corrupt reporting and comms but hey, let’s move along so as not to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Now you know what happened with C-19 reporting. Higher stakes but same deference to authority. Can you spell fiasco?
Given the latest -- let me weigh in. I'm sorry she is having an ordeal and as I said I really admire her. At some point someone needs to explain why lies were told and photos faked as a solution to a comms problem.
A simple media release would have sufficed. The words around the cancer and treatment were chosen carefully. What was the original surgery? If they diagnosed some cells from pathology slides two weeks ago -- why did KP say she would be out for months back in January? The subterfuge from such a seminal family has done a lot of damage. Many will not forget it no matter how many pushes we get from Rebecca English and Richard Eden. I feel for her but this was not the way.
Frankly, l couldn't give two hoots about the monarchy. Their treatment of Diana was appaulling and, IMO Canada should have dropped them the day after QEII died. We can't afford them, we can't afford to pay for their visits to Canada and we can't afford to keep a Govenor General in the lap of luxury.
