Hello Trish, I am one of your monthly supporters. It would be awesome if you could arrange to have Naomi Wolf as a guest on your podcast. Great article by the way. The world has gone bonkers.

I love Naomi and had her on some time ago. She is terrific and worth another chat.

So well said. I am no historian, but I believe that it took several centuries for Rome to fall. Here in Canada, it appears to have taken less than a decade.

Western liberal democracy seemed to reach a peak in the 1990's with the break-up of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Berlin wall. In retrospect, the 90's seemed buoyant with hope and perhaps marked the peak for western civilization. It seems like 9/11 marked a point where the decline started, and has been followed by an ever-increasing parade of calamities that often seem scripted and planned rather than organic.

Rome from its founding to its fall existed for over 1200 years, 500 of which were as a republic. Considering that Rome defined western civilization for the last 500 years of its existence, that's not a bad run. There is no comparison. We won't even make it to 250 years.

Well said .." an ever-increasing parade of calamities" is a great phrase....

Rare & refreshing to read a professional journalist who is able to analyze our current predicament in such a clear-headed manner. It helps not to have the log of ideology stuck in one's eye. The decline began with displacement of a religious worldview at the time of the Reformation of the 16th C, the scientific revolution & most importantly the Enlightenment when Reason displaced Revelation & man inserted himself in place of God with Robespierre & the French Revolution. All this is well enough documented. The decline became precipitously steep with 19th C modernism & by the time we reach the long arm of cultural Marxism in the post-modernism & deconstructionism of the late 20th C it's all over. Gilbert Murray, in his monumental study of the stages of Greek religion explains civilizations collapse when they lose the will to go on. But it's worse than that today for entire populations have fallen prey to the lies of the establishment elites, lies made ubiquitous via a consenting media & empowered via a technology the ancients could only have dreamed of. Humans have always been mentally lazy & easily manipulated but today's technology in the hands of the elites who own & control it have seduced the masses in a way never before possible (at least without violence) & with the media fully on board & the decimation of the education system (by design) what lies ahead is an apocalyptic dystopia (all utopias are at heart dystopias devoid of freedom & human rights) that will spell the end of humanity as we know it. Some such as yourself (& CJ Hopkins & Winter Oak & Dr Tess Lawrie & Tessa Lena and a monumentally important book for our age by Fergus O'Connor Greenwood, 180 Degrees: Unlearn the Lies You Have Been Taught) are sounding the alarm. It is no doubt too late but as Prof Desmet says, that doesn't mean we give up for our voice can at least slow the inevitable & maybe just maybe keep the guillotines of the righteous Robespierres at bay

Thanks Richard. Not much has changed since I wrote this. I have new piece on how cissy porn and silicone skin women suits are in play for some of the current "trans" types. There seems to be no metric for who can claim that title. Therefore fetishists are claiming and getting civil rights protection over women and children.

Expand full comment

It is the height of misogyny that "trans women" are telling women what to think and feel.

I also find it absolutely ridiculous that we are supposed to be "body positive" and accepting regarding obesity (which can be changed) but not when it comes to gender "dysphoria" and accepting one's biological sex (which can't be changed). Absolutely mental. And it keeps us all distracted from the ongoing centralization of power and control, the bad behaviour of our so-called leaders and the bullshit "experts" are spewing about man-made climate change, the ongoing need for more shots, the need for digital currency etc.

Hi Trish, here's an interesting piece by a guy I know: https://unherd.com/2022/09/how-my-college-is-censoring-me/. Perhaps you could get Nadon on your podcast. He's a smart guy.

Tolerance and inclusion are too words that I find somehow pretentious, but they are what we have always needed to cohabitate none the less. Who are we to tolerate?, but that we must do, if what you want or like doesn't fit our or their pictures, but does not infringe or impede on our own wants and like. It is truly amazing that any of us can get along with any of us.

The trans men or women dancing burlesque in classrooms is f@#king wrong and its part of the theatre to keep us from noticing the agenda of population control being achieved with gene therapy injections calling them vaccines, farm restrictions, social credit systems etc. So much theatre. I Just signed a petition to be a part of an attempt to stop the BC government from selling off 300 acres of very productive, beautiful farmland to an industrial park development. We have to be so vigilant to be sure that our bureaucrats don't destroy our morality, institutions, agriculture and starve us all. Now with the farmland being bought up by billionaires and restricting farmers from using fertilizer and restricting livestock to cut down on methane? These people are out of their minds and reckless, we have not had a nitrogen issue for millions of years on this planet, 78% of the air we breathe is nitrogen. Replacing fuel cars with electric that they don't have the infrastructure to charge and are made with such toxic materials ..and all so we can keep doing all that has our economy run. Ridiculous!!

I believe that "THEY" want us to keep arguing over nonsense like this so that we don't pay attention to the killing and dying that is happening now. And yes of course, if these were women performing these grade school performances, there would be a sexist and immoral outrage from the left and the right, but WTF do we do about transvestites or transexuals in the classroom? You have got to be Fu@king kidding me!! Get them the hell out of there and let them perform for adults that want to see that kind of show. If this is WOKE, then WOKE is immoral and not for children at the very least.

On the correcting of the race prejudice that had once occurred ..To simply change the prejudice to prefer the ones that were oppressed is insanity. I get why some would think that this makes sense, but then they must see that this is perpetuating the ignorance that has preceded the present idiocy. We need to evolve, not digress back to the same lack of reason and understanding AKA stupidity, of our ancestors. Trudough's father was the minister in charge of the residential schools before he was prime minister, that is when reparations should have begun, but the fact that the son is now in charge of making it right is so cliche and he needs to sort out their drinking water first. OMG!!

Enough with this bullshit, I for one will not sit quietly as the normalizing of this is paraded in front of my grandchildren. Yes grandpa is old fashioned, but old fashioned is good thing. We need to go into nature with our children more, or build something with them. Focusing on sexuality has become an obsession, the kids will let you know, but don't be so fast to help them with the choice, because people try things out. There is no one size fits all, but there is something intelligent about stepping back and exercising some caution. Not influencing in any way, just slow down, sometimes giving a little space or procrastination is a good thing.

I am just beginning my mandatory teacher training called “Commit to Kids: Sexual Abuse Prevention Program”. The cognitive dissonance is astounding. How can they be both mandating this and also encouraging sexual grooming at such young ages? I would love to share some screenshots for you to see the double speak.

Can you fault me for recalling this? It wasn't just prescient for its time but verily a macabre instruction manual for what would become our tragic and troubled future. The visionaries of our times can see around the the bends in the roads that most of us are blind to.

"Everybody knows that the Plague is coming

Everybody knows that it's moving fast

Everybody knows that the naked man and woman

Are just a shining artifact of the past

Everybody knows the scene is dead

But there's gonna be a meter on your bed

That will disclose

What everybody knows"

Great piece, Trish. And I fear you are right.

I read or heard in a podcast recently someone hypothesizing that the cancel culture of the 90s is what kicked off this congealing, 30 years later, of the rigid group-think and cult-like behaviors we are witnessing today - the product of decades of politically correct education in Western societies. Makes a certain kind of sense.

it certainly feels like the Fall of Rome (although geo-politics might've played a more decisive role there) and we're all very apprehensive about the T-movement. what's helped me clear my head is the observation of one my mama bear-girlfriends that most transmen are no more than frustrated, overweight bullies. so what does one do facing a bully? of course that depends - do we speak up and confront him ("her"/"it") or do we pretend not to see and stay in our cowardly comfort-zone?

however, things are brewing: “LGB drop the T” keeps trending on Twitter as gay activists turn on transgender activists - https://notthebee.com/article/its-happening-lgb-drop-the-t

I'm not on Twitter but I hope you're right, mary-lou. Because, as a gay person, I resent the "T" having been shoehorned into what was once just LGBQ (back in the day, even the "B"s were questionable - get off the fence! lol). Not because I feel "T"s shouldn't be allowed to make a case for what they feel they need and deserve, but because I feel it to be a completely separate issue.

My generation came out of the closet en masse to fight for our right to exist - with equal rights - in our natural states. And of course drag queens (and kings) have always been a subset of our communities. But I don't think any of us imagined the normalization of drag shows at schools and libraries or the forced acceptance of life- and body-altering decisions for children. That these are being made out to be natural extensions of LGBQ issues has been very troubling for me.

Every value has been inverted in the current moment. I was a normie liberal my entire life until a couple years ago. Now, because I have noticed similar things as Trish, I am considered almost a monster by many friends. They talk about “the 2.0 version of me” that is not as cool. I am the same guy. The new world of sexualizing kids is the bizarre thing that has changed.
