Today, I happened to be sitting with a friend who is relatively open minded but hates Trump. Because he is very intelligent and on top of issues I asked him casually if he had heard anything about the Director of National intelligence’s declassification of incriminating documents that showed Obama and his advisers made up the whole Russia hoax that dogged President Trump in his first term. He completely dismissed me. He hadn’t heard anything and refused to entertain the idea. Based on this casual interaction I don’t have much hope of anything happening.

I am going to put out some ideas for reflection.
- In trials, we need to have 3 options. Guilty, Not Guilty, and Lawfare.
- In all courts, Judges need to be chosen by lottery with all qualified individuals being put into the lottery at every level. Superior Courts need to be removed from Capital Cities, and be located in Secondary Cities for 5 year terms. No Judge residing in Ottawa can be on the Supreme Court.
- Governments need to be prohibited from directly funding media. My suggestion is that every citizen get a $200 vocher that they can purchase media supcriptions every year. Only Media with 80% subsciber funding can be accredited.
- We need to criminalize lobbying. (20 year minimum sentence & manditory public investigation)
- All discussion about legislation / regulation must happen in public, and on the public record
- Every Voter should get a $50 voucher for every level of government to be given at the door every year to Political Parties. This should be the only funding Political Parties can recieve.
- The Prime Minister needs to be told that he / she has 170 + MP's and they are their staff. The Prime Minister can have an appointment secretary & a protocol advisor paid for by Parliment.
I know I am dreaming, but if we as citizens are not actively talking about reform, it will never happen.

A colleague posted on FB before the election, "...if you are voting for Poilievre, please unfriend me now." An alleged "professional." Another, once dear friend, sent me a chain of emails with memes with Poilievre doing the Nazi salute and captions such as "Poilievre is Putin." She came after be hard on FB for recapping a list of liberal scandals before the leadership was won by snake Carney, and told me I didn't deserve my job as I was so biased. Another supposed "professional." Another colleague called me (on email, I still have the receipts) a far-right conspiracy theorist for suggesting MAID was a slippery slope and that the liberal funded media was biased. She insinuated I was perhaps a liability with our employer. This was 2023. I ultimately decided to unfriend her on FB. This is but three examples of lost relationships. There are many more. I can count on one hand who is still a part of my life with respect to family and on my other hand, who I still can call a friend.
