Great discussion. Thank you. Question: I remember on one of your podcasts a discussion about the Anti-Hate non-profit I think it was the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) - that labeled, without evidence, the Truckers as alt-right. This allowed Liberals and CBC to riff on the subject. … and it became a self licking ice cream cone. (Especially - given that CAHN receives funds from the government. ) Has anyone done a full investigation into CAHN?

Wiki says, "The organization is modelled after and supported by the American Southern Poverty Law Center"...

Which is a very strong indication that the organization is, like far too many "NGOs", probably acting, and doing, the exact opposite of that which is suggested by the organization's name.

When sending emails or text messages to center-left friends and activists I have not engaged with in a while the first or second comment is always a rant about Trump, the USA and the end of times.

I am a radical old school leftist (stopped the Multilateral Agreement on Investment, shut down the WTO in 1999 and was involved in the Fairy Creek Old Growth movement), but I tire of this over the top hysterical politics. We need to enjoy life again.

The way I see the present madness is through the lens of history. Yet if I wrote here what I recognize as familiar most people reading my post would dismiss it as hyperbole.

History records over and over again that few people imagine how much things can change and how quickly. That anyone in Canada would vote for Mark Carney after 10 years of Justin Trudeau doesn’t surprise me. Few people truly understand the malignant intentions of the transnational Globalists. It is not a secret. They are engineering a complete societal breakdown. Life is not ever going to be as it was in the 1950s in Canada. There was an attitude then of never again! But the very same forces which engineered those horrible conflagrations are still at work.

History is not taught in schools. The media instead shapes our reality by a continuous and steady stream of carefully contrived tropes, memes, and references to past events which are intentionally crafted to create a received impression which is a lie.

Of course if those deceptions are taken to be factual then it is obvious that things proposed will refer to former events as justification for the necessity of preventing their recurrence. Thus it is easy to deceive the masses.

The past as received is heavily redacted.

There’s the rub! People tend to pick and choose from a menu where past events are presented by those who shape public opinion as having occurred as though by some kind of accident. For example I am sure readers here are familiar with a common meme bomb accompanying a paragraph or book about past wars.

It is a common meme to read that when “war broke out” certain provocations had to be contested. …Because the ‘evil’ promulgators of the conflict had to be defeated or ‘else.’

Wars’ never “broke out” — without intentional provocation, and before they can ‘break out’ the masses have to be prepared, i.e. propagandized, to support the actions.

The masses believe what they have been told. Why wouldn’t they? “Everybody knows that,” it is exclaimed!

The truth is those who are paid to shape public perceptions most of the time are repackaging the received. Canada does have a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. John Diefenbaker the prime minister at the time, saw them passed in Canadas Parliament in 1960.

But the Supreme Court and politicians continually ignore those rights and seek to abrogate them, to suit powerful interests rather than the rights and freedoms of the individual the Charter was intended to protect.

The truckers had every right to assemble. So they assembled in trucks! What if it? Protestors, according to the logic of Prime Minister Trudeau, ought to have conformed to whatever he understood would have barely been noticed.

The purpose of a protest is qua protest a self evident annoyance. What good is a protest if the Government is not brought to account. Should the truckers have parked their trucks in a vacant field 25 miles out in the country? The point of the protest was that in the early days of COVID the truckers were lauded for braving the threat of infection and driving across the border down into California and returning with the staff of life, yet they had to submit to multiple jabs, once the jabs were available, if they were to continue to drive their rigs to California.

But Justin Trudeau decided to ignore the protestors. No doubt because meeting them in Ottawa when they first arrived would have exposed the Trudeau Government and his reaction to COVID for the farce it was.

So he chose to hang them out to dry. He made hay as though it was a false flag!

And he denigrated the protestors as among other things, misogamists. Some of the truckers had their wives and children in their rigs.

And of course the CBC reporting was typically biased in favour of their false establishment credentials. These reporters prefer to be thought of as journalists. Well, yellow journalism is nothing new!

I do not watch TV or listen to the radio. Media in Canada is either owned by giant U.S. hedge funds or U.S. corporations or in the case of the CBC men and women bought and paid for to promulgate the Liberal establishment.

Canadians pay to be brainwashed by the media the Government subsidizes. Yet Canadians do not object! Why is that?

The answer is that media promulgates the intentions of an elite which hires the politicians to persuade the masses they should believe things which get young men killed! Slaughtered on some foreign beach fighting against some equally brainwashed young men from a foreign land using weapons, and material bought and paid for with borrowed money and increasing taxes which investments go into the pockets of the ruling elites and their puppets. The dead are dead!

talk about cruelty on the left -- (and I'm neither left nor right, as I find looneys on both sides) -- you should be at a demonstration for women's right to our own spaces and what comes out of the mouths (and fists) of men in dresses and their minions.

Great discussion about our friends in Canada. What I heard were view points that resonate strongly with how I have processed the last 5 years. The last part of the interview is critical- which is how to prepare for what’s next. Forgiveness is a key as it is so very powerful. And yes, Truth over Clan or political party is a universal uniting force.

Great talk Trish. Goddamn refreshing to say the least.

I see it all as internal awareness vs external validation. The chinadian arrogance knows no bounds. Why does this arrogance manifest? Comfort, playing not to lose, lack of integrity, lots of reasons.

The sad truth is those that project fear will live their fear.

We can be patient and will prevail. Go within.

Great interview Trish. You succinctly described the current Canadian condition, albeit with a sense of despondency and resignation. For those of us who remain incredulous at the success of the Liberal bait & switch strategy, there is at least some consolation that our Orwellian existence isn't being imagined. Those who have succumbed to the propaganda will either fall hard or be the willing guards in the towers. I can only draw inspiration from previous generations and remain true to their perseverance. I've never felt more Canadian than on the 2 occasions where I visited the Vimy Memorial, in France. While it often feels like our battle is lost, it would be a betrayal of those men to remain silent. You're a leader in that respect. Keep going!

Trish, this is a great interview. One of the things that makes it great is that you remained measured and calm and even gave space for the Ottawa resident’s POV on the convoy - something that may make the interview accessible to some who don’t entirely share your perspective. You have a tendency to be “strident”. It worked for me when you were a rare Canadian voice on covid nonsense - something that was as close to a “black and white” or “right and wrong” issue one could have. Then you took that approach to world conflicts and missed the complexities and I couldn’t listen to you anymore. I would see comments from you on other substacks mocking people who didn’t share your viewpoint. Even in this interview, you claim to be “right” on all the issues. This is not what I expect from a journalist. I share your current despair about Toronto and Canada. I don’t have a cottage to withdraw to - I am limited to walks in High Park, the ravines and the lakefront, but feel blessed to have that.

That was a wonderful interview, Trish. You are definitely not alone in wanting to spend time alone in the woods. I am actively downsizing my life so that if Carney does win, I will be in a better position to build a remote off-grid cabin in the wilderness and drop out of society if necessary to survive the coming apocalypse. If Canada falls, we have nowhere left to flee. For about the last 25 years, I have had this unshakable feeling that things were slowing going sideways. On my life journey, I have taken steps to prepare physically, psychologically, and spiritually and learn survival skills for the potential collapse of civilization. In hindsight, I'm very glad I did. Canada has never been closer to the brink.

Fear is the root of liberal play book. Until the sheeple wake up and see that they are being played with a fantasy fear we will not get free of these liberals. Canada is ruled by an authoritarian government that has openly paid off the “trusted” media. It is so Orwellian, in how the words disgustingly are the opposite of what they are in reality. Our media is compromised, our hate speech is controlled speech, their mantra- “we are in this together” - means we the elite are doing it our way so get in line. Our government has rewritten our history with lies and deception despite the facts and the evidence brought forth. (Ie residential school issue) The truth is turned upside down and sadly too many have no idea what is reality.
