Loved this podcast with Viva.! He was my source for what was really going on in Ottawa during the peaceful and inspirational Trucker Freedom Protest. I too drive a VW Convertible. I call it my "Covid Car" because I decided that if people were telling me I might die if I caught the virus, I may as well buy my dream car from the time I was 16 year old! I love it and feel free and alive when driving with the top down through the beautiful Alberta foothills!!
The one day of joy I felt during C-19 was a country drive, top down, listening to Dancing Queen at full volume. For second I thought I might survive the craziness.
Chinada deserves its suffering. Too many arrogant fools playing not to lose. We stand for nothing. We have pederasts, pedophiles, liars and thieves running everything and we, like petulant children blame the Orange-man. No self-awareness, accountability or responsibility. I see catastrophe as a blessed hell-ride. It will wake you up and make you better or will recycle you into oblivion, thereby saving the rest of us from an anchor.
The lie of Canada, now Chinada will be over. The good can adapt and carry-on while the self-serving delusionists will have played their part as contrast. Bring it on!!
In it, he touches on the massive cultural changes that occurred during the Pearson/Trudeau era, and what the country was like before then. It was primarily Anglo in the British sense (except Quebec, but that's another discussion), and was closely aligned with the British empire until its dissolution after WWII. The national flag at the time, the red ensign, even had a union jack on it. Many of our provincial flags still carry the union jack.
One of the most overarching points is that we are not American (well, not yet lol). It has been that way since the American revolution, since those who wanted to stay loyal to the crown moved north when the thirteen colonies broke away. The war of 1812 repelled the American incursion, keeping us British, and we fought for the empire in the Boer wars and both World Wars. With the destruction of the empire, the country lost the big anchor to which it could be aligned, and since then it seems to me that it has been struggling to define itself.
What are we now? Not Americans. That's it. And now we have become hostile in our identification as not Americans. This is despite the massive American influence on our culture, and the absolute reliance of our economy and defense on the Americans. Maybe, instead of being adversarial with the USA, we should acknowledge everything we have in common with them, and negotiate a mutually beneficial relationship.
Mark my words, Mark Carney and the liberals will win the upcoming federal elections. And then Canada is finished as a serious country. What a waste and what an ignorant electorate.
I pray I'm wrong, but there hasn't been a shred of indication that this country wishes to improve its station and provide for the wellbeing of its people.
Even Pierre is a sheep in wolf's clothing - he doesn't have the stomach to upset the status quo and do the things that need doing in Canada (C-DOGE). And the media are just getting started on him anyway; they'll ensure he's not elected.
I watched Viva for hours and house during his Freedom Convoy coverage and thought he was phenomenal. And it was the simplicity of it that was so great. If any judge or anyone wants to see what really happened during the Convoy they should look at the countless hours of video from Viva. Its a shame that Canada has lost him but another example of our greatest heading south.
I have lived in Canada for 99 percent of my life other than the first year and the past 5 years are the first that I have seriously considered leaving. And frankly my motivation is actually even higher now than during Covid. I agree with you Trish that I feel more depressed about Canada now than during Covid and that says a LOT. I think its simply because Canadians have learned absolutely nothing. They are so easily manipulated..they are incapable of criticial thinking..they literally believe we handled Covid well and would do it again..and they are willing to elect the same gang of idiots who have driven this country in the ground for 10 years. Somehow they believe Carney is some sort of genius even though he advised the Liberals for 5 years..somehow they believe his 180 degree flip flop on the carbon tax..and on and on.
USA is looking mighty fine even though they have their issues. But I am impressed with the ability of their people to see through the bullshit.
I love Viva, too. He was my mainstay during the convoy. Always kind and always said yes when I asked him to do a show. I'm such an old schooler that I barely knew what a livestream was. I have done plenty of live reporting in my day though -- and Viva knocked it out of the park every day. He is a treasure.
Regrding the photo of Carney and the King (sounds like a Grimms fairy tale with a bad ending), your words are so spot on:
"This image of these two net-zero fanatics, sitting in a gilded palace, both knowing the joy and comfort of motorcades, flying private and living in massive houses — signals inadvertently, what Carney is up to. He is not one of us. He is one of them. We will suffer. The pampered elites will not. They never do. Meanwhile — the lineup near my apartment for the food-bank grows longer every week."
Carney does not care one whit for our beloved country.
I love Viva's energy and his straight-to-the-point on his thoughts. I saw him in Ottawa during the trucker convoy going about talking to anyone and everyone. I share his and your concerns re Carney. For the little we have left of Canada, he will be sure to totally destroy it. A mega globalist. Canadians may just be dumb enough to vote the Liberals in again. :(
Maybe there is no peaceful political process capable of protecting the 99% of the population from the top 1%. The concentration of wealth and political power has become so extreme that it won’t be long until we’re in a dystopian hunger games society. Freedom of speech is almost gone.
I do mourn the death of a cohesive country. The division they have caused. The heartbreak and the penury -- all the while luring a section of the country into believing all will be well as long as we would bow to the church of post-modern wokeism. It was a cultural putsch. Just like China.
I've suspended for some time now democracy is a thin veneer, or an illusion. We are still controlled by Royalty, though now our corporate Kings ride in private jets instead of chariots. They look down at us from their thrown and tell the working people to shut up and work harder, taxing more to fill their coffers.
Losing hope in humanity. Are we stuck in a never ending time loop ? Covid Deja vu we have all been saying. Bless the hearts of those who have been awake a lot longer than myself. How do you tolerate this insufferable state of societies inability to critically think?
Another great interview Trish; have always appreciated Viva Frei's points of view ever since the early days of the viral debacle - that we can't talk about here in Canada because there is nothing to see other than moving on to the final part of the WEF's agenda . Not sure if that former speaker of the house who said "I can't hear you" to the journalist who asked about the WEF in the early days of the 20's, has had his ears cleaned out yet .I suppose what is even more sad for me , is that many of you who are standing up for the truth of what really is happening to this country will be leaving because you can. Perhaps being a senior and having very deep roots here in Toronto , it'll have to be the hill I die on. Reading the stoics has somehow allowed me to be more grounded and after the lock down debacle ,I see how easily people - I'm thinking the same ones who fell for the safe and effective narrative are with out questions no matter if they don't know anything about Carney and will simply follow the new master of guile and deception - which seems to be the portfolio requirement of the government .
It's fascinating how all these disingenuous beta-males are typically photographed with their legs wrapped around each other, completely cross-legged just like Trudeau. In all honesty, I cannot cross my legs like this!
Carney was a very handsome young man. Aging is unkind to everyone, but he's aged in a way that looks like some sort of moral lesson about a life of toadying and compromise. Actually Keir Starmer too.
WHY did he see Macron? They're both globalist banksters! Carney "and the new to be German Chancellor" are Goldman Sachs and Rothschild for Macron. Starmer is a real amoral piece of work, pushing for War to save his job in a country teetering on bankruptcy. IMHO, we need to face the fact that the colonialist western extraction class "Yes Virginia, Canada is one of the worst actors" are on the "long" Way out and, about time. We NEED to go to China and beg forgiveness and ask for the best trading relations we can get. Should have done it when we had the chance. The Chinese slogan could be Make Life Better for The People which they are doing and not just for their own people. To My knowledge, not one western country is making life better for it's working classes, only for the officer classes and AI is about to shake them up. Red dye #? and a commercial with RFKJR at a fast food bragging about cooking fries in tallow rather than seed oils. His choice for deputy along with Tulsi Gabbards choice shot down tell's me everything I need to know about MAGA AND MAHA, both scams for the peanut gallery. We really are Charlie Brown and the ruling classes are Lucy and we never learn.
It would be in EVERYONE'S best interest to sign onto THE BUREAU and read the plethora of articles regarding China's interference in Canada as well as the HELL of the fentanyl drug cartels rampant in BC. Better yet, visit Vancouver to experience East Hastings Street! BC has been the backdoor to China's criminal elements for far too long so much so that Premier David Eby has granted himself great power over the Province in retaliation towards Trump whilst embracing China. AND there's a clause in one of the Health Acts stating the 'government will invoke CHINESE LAWS if there's another pandemic.' I highly doubt the assertions that China's uplifting their society when citizens of SHANGHAI and BEIJING were put through a state of lockdowns as in LOCKED INSIDE THEIR dewellings for months, running out of food and essentials and doing swan dives off their balconies in desperation.
Hi Trish, Love your work, your analysis and reporting of matters relating to censorship, Covid management and suppression of truth apply equally here in Oz. Are you aware of the heinous travesty of justice that has befallen Dr William Makis? I would be interested to hear/read your opinion on this matter. It seems health bureaucrats in his province are simply vindictive. Link follows. makismd@substack.com
I will take a look. Yes, I know him but don't know as much as I should .....I'm a bit of a one-man band and its so hard to keep up. He deserves a hearing and I will get to it.
The latest genius selected for us plebes and serfs is nothing but a useful idiot who thinks he’s our better and I’m sure he’s doing all that he is scheming to do, just for us poor benighted souls. Us lucky Canadians!!!! We seem to have won the lottery twice!!! NOT!!! 😮💨 I’d rather poke my eye out than be seen hobknobbing with Starker or Macaroon! Birds of a feather and all Carny!
His arrogance is showing in all of these media scrums. He doesn't like being questioned, especially by women. I liked Rosemary Barton for about five seconds when she went after him. "Look inside yourself....Rosemary,"

Well said. The people in power in this country (the politicians and elite), have no interest in changing the status quo, so it won't be changed.
Also, are we still using the electronic voting machines?
If you don't follow Fortissax, I highly recommend. He writes excellent analyses of this country. His latest is here:

Carney was a very handsome young man. Aging is unkind to everyone, but he's aged in a way that looks like some sort of moral lesson about a life of toadying and compromise. Actually Keir Starmer too.
I noticed that. Maybe like Dorian Gray his black heart on the inside is ruining his looks on the outside.
Check out Mr Burns on the Simpsons . Old Homer and Co had it right for many years in my opinion.
Ha!
He looks very sneaky.
That's what happens when one sells their soul under the guise of fortune and fame at the expense of human lives.
