Strange fun fact- when Gaming (casinos) in Ontario we’re being privatized, (OLG➡️ private operator) Initially Brookfield and Apollo were financially involved in that deal- I’m not sure if they still are, during the Covid closure of Ontario casinos other funds were needed, I guess to stay afloat.

The privatization of Ontario casinos, as well as OLG and the extensive expansion into the online world is quite a story. It’s the one thing tax payers lose site of, funds received by Provincial Gov’s from gaming. Tangent, I digress.

So carney has some dirt on trump? Do you think that is good for Canada or bad if carney wins the election?

Support for Carney is support for China. The Liberals love Chinese influence in Canada and even use Beijings persecution of democracy at home as a tool to threaten voters in Canada. We have a Liberal MP “jokingly” reminding his voters that if you go against him, you could get a bounty on your head from mainland China. There is currently a bounty on his conservative opponents head, he said turn him in and collect the money. As a joke of course.

The number has been changed to 660 5th Avenue, Manhattan. (666 was formerly known as the Tishman Building.)

I find the situation terrifying … I do not want to live under the WEF. I coul believe Trump’s validation of Carney. It made no sense. Now I understand. He said sometime ago ( Trudeau was in office) that P Polievre did not seem like a “MAGA” type. I believe he was well aware of Carney’s tie to Brookfield. I am worried that China or the US will interfere with our elections. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse.

Carney is an international banker. No matter what he says or doss or said or did, you CAN NEVER TRUST that he is acting on behalf of or in the best interest of Canadians. Period.

Who knows where the truth lays? Feints within feints within feints. I can’t help but feel we all have front row seats at a worldwide, amateur theatrical production, that is almost laughable at its heavy-handedness.. Having said that, I will still opt for the side that has the 2A. All freedoms follow…

I'm with you. It seems no amount of reporting will impact BUT as a lifelong journo, I must continue to believe that truth wins. Otherwise we are just toast.

Trump the salesman knows that Carney leaves a trail of distressed wherever he goes, this time it may well be for Trump to ride in as a rescuer and scoop up what is left.

Trump "is oddly praising a foreign leader,"....

This is a good article and an interesting story and all that....but hold on a minute...... Trump is ALWAYS gracious and diplomatic when first dealing with someone. Its only AFTER the other person has directly insulted or lied about him that Trump starts defending himself.

Its hard to predict exactly what will happen....but most likely, the reciprocal tariffs will go on as planned on April 2. The hapless Carney will respond with futile counter tariffs....but he won't be able to resist insulting Trump in the process. Trump will then double his tariffs. And.... that might just be the end of Carney.

You are correct. But Trump came a courting AFTER Carney said Canada is done with the United States. It is the kind of comment that usually evokes bluster. Brookfield finances real estate deals.....never forget that. At heart, Trump is still a builder -- for good and ill.

This great reporting, very disturbing. And I thoughts Witkoff being bailed out by the Qataris was bad. This is perhaps why Trump doesn’t want Pollievre as Canadian PM, although he is a much closer to Trump ideologically.
