Many people are addicted to their cellphones. It is a digital hypodermic needle of dopamine that keeps us tethered to it — ignoring our families, friends and neighbors as we walk, outsourcing our sense of direction and memory to this little hard-drive that has taken over for much of our daily cognition. We are losing our ability to reason and think, and so we are being controlled. Simon Elmer is a brilliant essayist and researcher, and he thinks this was the plan all along.
